Our clients
We act predominantly for private individuals and SMEs. We also act for larger companies including publicly-listed ones.
Our approach
We keep things short and to the point. Our clients are not keen on 10-page letters and neither are we, especially if a short e-mail does the job!
We organise ourselves around our clients’ needs. For example, sometimes clients will require advice on more than one area of the law. Our lawyers from different practice areas are used to working alongside each other in these circumstances to give you the best possible service.
We confirm all instructions (and any variation to them) in writing so that no misunderstanding can arise as to what clients want us to do. |

Funding
This will be an area of concern to us as much as it is to our clients. Work carried out is normally charged for on the basis of time spent by the lawyer(s) acting. Wherever possible we will give clients a clear, realistic written costs estimate at the outset, and update that estimate in writing regularly. Some of our work, such as conveyancing and the drafting of wills, is carried out for a fixed fee agreed with the client in advance. Where this is not possible, you may be able to place a cap on your costs. If you ask us to carry out additional work not initially envisaged, or if a case turns out to be unexpectedly complex, lengthy or time-consuming, we will clearly spell out the additional cost involved. Where appropriate, we may offer our clients no-win no-fee agreements or after-the-event legal expenses insurance. However, we do not undertake publicly-funded work (formerly legal aid). |
